HYDERABAD: Enforcement against unauthorised buildings has intensified in the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) limits, with officials inspecting construction sites and issuing notices.
CMC Commissioner G Srijana said buildings constructed on plots measuring less than 75 square yards and exceeding seven metres in height would be demolished. She also said action would be taken against unauthorised construction on plots measuring more than 15 square yards.
Enforcement teams conducted field inspections on Monday and identified 38 unauthorised buildings under construction, according to officials. Nine buildings were demolished, notices were issued to 28 buildings and one building was sealed, the source copy said.

Officials inspect dangerous building in Anjaiah Nagar
HYDRAA Commissioner A V Ranganath and CMC Zonal Commissioner Mayank Singh inspected several areas as part of the enforcement drive.
Ranganath first inspected the ongoing demolition of another seven-storey building in Anjaiah Nagar. He said the building had become structurally weak and was being demolished carefully to ensure that nearby residences and structures were not affected.
Officials were using a Baahubali crane to cut or crush portions of the building, including slabs and walls. Ranganath said this would reduce pressure on the structure and lower the possibility of a sudden collapse.
Residents of the adjoining Sterling Whitefield apartment complex and children staying at a hostel towards Anjaiah Nagar were evacuated as a precaution, he said. Ranganath added that HYDRAA would extend assistance with the demolition if requested by CMC officials.
During the inspection, local residents also brought other dangerous buildings to the officials' attention.
The administration is now considering examining the structural stability of buildings that are already in use, apart from those under construction. An official said clear orders on the issue were likely to be issued within a day or two.
