Telangana ACB arrests two revenue officials in bribery case

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two revenue officials of Kothakota mandal in Wanaparthy district for allegedly demanding a bribe of ₹40,000.

The accused have been identified as C Vasu, revenue inspector, and G Naveen Reddy, mandal surveyor, both attached to the office of the tahsildar and joint sub-registrar, Kothakota. A case was registered against them under Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, at ACB Mahabubnagar range on September 18.

According to officials, the two allegedly demanded the money from a complainant to conduct an enquiry into the land of his relatives and submit a panchanama report to the tahsildar for issuing an Occupancy Right Certificate (ORC).

The ACB said the accused acted improperly and dishonestly, thereby committing an offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Both were arrested and are being produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally, Hyderabad.

The case is under investigation.
