HYDERABAD: The Telangana Elite Group for Drug Law Enforcement (Eagle Force) has launched three artificial intelligence-based tools to prevent drug abuse among youth and dismantle narcotics networks at an early stage.
Unlike conventional enforcement that focuses on controlling addicts or arresting traffickers, Eagle Force has shifted focus to early detection and prevention using technology.
Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy launched the official website on Tuesday: https://eagleforce.tspolice.gov.in/
Sahay.AI: Chatbot for drug awareness
Sahay.AI is a chatbot that answers queries related to narcotic drugs using artificial intelligence.
If users ask how to identify drug users, the tool responds instantly with indicators such as frequent mood swings, unusual odours, dry lips, and red eyes. It advises caution if such symptoms are observed.
Shield.AI: Support for de-addiction
Shield.AI is designed to help youth recover from drug addiction. It explains the harmful effects of drug use and provides guidance for rehabilitation.
Officials said the tool ensures 100 per cent confidentiality for users seeking information.
Mithra-TG: Focus on teenagers
Mithra-TG targets teenagers aged 13-19 and aims to prevent substance abuse by helping parents and teachers assess behavioural patterns.
The application includes a questionnaire with 39 parameters for parents and seven for teachers. Each parameter carries a score between 0 and 3, while teacher inputs range from -3 to 3.
If a teenager's total score exceeds 16, it may indicate a high risk of drug exposure. In such cases, parents are advised to seek medical intervention.
The questionnaire includes behavioural signs such as increased emotional distress, drowsiness, preference for isolation, skipping meals, and speech difficulties.
