Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday, April 12, and ever since, condolences have been pouring in. And while many have shared photos and memories with her, some took to social media to remember her by, and Athiya Shetty did it too.
However, she seemed to have goofed up, and now, the internet is calling her out.
Athiya Shetty shares Lata Mangeshkar's photo instead of Asha Bhosle
Atjiya took to social media to share a condolence post for Asha Bhosle; however, her photo happened to be that of Asha ji's sister, the late Lata Mangeshkar, and everyone on social media now seems to be having a field day, if nothing else.
Athiya has, however, deleted the story now, but the story's photo has been doing the rounds on the internet. The caption of the shared X post read, "Can someone tell Athiya that Lata ji died years ago and it's her sister Asha who died today?"
Comments under the post too, seemed to draw a lot of attention. One user commented, "Is this girl crazy, what is she posting this is Lata ji, not Asha ji ." Someone also wrote, "Asha Ji might look like this in her younger days, after all they were sisters …"
Meanwhile, many industry folks have also shared their condolences messages, including Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Hema Malini, and others.
Karan wrote, "To say we have lost a legend today would be an understatement. Asha ji was unlike any other, a voice that defined not only one generation but across a span of cinematic universe! I was and have been the massive fan of her voice, her art, her personality…Asha ji, your music will live on forever and we are blessed to experience the magic you have left behind forever! Rest in peace and power."
SRK wrote, "It's truly sad to learn about Asha Tai's passing… her voice has been one of the pillars of Indian cinema and will continue to resonate world over for centuries to come. A talent that will outlive many, she always showered me with blessings and love and i will miss her. Rest in Peace Asha Tai… love you."
May her soul rest in peace!
