Ever since Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar duology took the country by storm, many questions have plagued the viewers' minds. One of them is which Pakistani leader inspired actor Rakesh Bedi's character, Jameel Jamali, in Dhurandhar movies.
It was assumed that Pakistani politician Nabeel Gabol could have been the inspiration but as it turns out, it may not be true. Keep reading to find out:

In Ranveer Singh-led Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Jameel Jamali's character turns out to be one of the biggest twists. After the films released, everyone wondered which real-life politician inspired Rakesh Bedi's character. It was believed to be Nabeel Gabol after he reacted to the film and criticised the makers for inaccuracies.
However, it turns out Jameel Jamali's character is not entirely inspired by Gabol but another politician Altaf Hussain. Recently, Dhurandhar's research consultant, Aditya Raj Kaul, clarified that Jamali's character is not rooted in one particular individual.
Speaking on Prakhar Gupta's podcast, he said that Jameel Jamali is a mix of Hussain and Gabol, but it is mostly Hussan.
He said, "It's a mix of Altaf Hussain from MQM and Nabeel Gabol, but it's mostly Altaf Hussain. He is alive and in the UK. His videos are hilarious. His glasses and overall look are similar to Jameel's character."
Kaul also said that Altaj was accused of working for RAW in Pakistan, much like Jameel in Dhurandhar.
He added, "There were allegations in Pakistan that Altaf Hussain was working for RAW; after that, he left Pakistan and settled in the UK. He also has a daughter."
There are other similarities that confirm the same. In Dhurandhar, Jamali's daughter Yalina (Sara Arjun) says in the beginning that she was born when her father was 45, and that he married her mother, who was half his age. Interestingly, according to Pakistani media reports, Altaf Hussain got married at 48 to his wife when she was in her 20s.
It was widely speculated that Jameel Jamali's character was inspired by Nabeel Gabol after he spoke about it several times. He once said, "Jo mera role dikhaya gaya hai, mera role bahut dabbang tha, or dabbang iss tareeke se tha ki inhone mere role ko sahi tareeke se nahi dikhaya (I was very brave and fearless. But they haven't shown me the way I was)." He said that wanted to act but could not take legal action internationally due to financial constraints.
Altaf Hussain is a British-Pakistani politician Altaf Hussain is the founder of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). Born in Karachi in 1953, he has been living in exile in the United Kingdom since 1992. Over the years, he has been accused of multiple charges in Pakistan, including murder, treason, inciting violence and hate.
His party was also accused of conspiring to separate Karachi from Pakistan, allegedly at the behest of RAW. While living in exile in the UK in 2019, Hussain had urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grant him and his colleagues asylum.
