There are many Bollywood films where supporting actors won the audience's hearts more than the lead performers. But we have almost never seen a supporting actor get rewarded monetarily for their performance.

This is what happened with Dhurandhar actor Rakesh Bedi who plays the cunning politician Jameel Jamali in both the movies. Rakesh's mannerisms and dialogue delivery struck a chord with the audience, which reflected in the love and appreciation he received in the movie's reviews. Even on social media, his fans couldn't stop singing praises about him by repeating his iconic phrases from the life like "Baccha hai tu mera!"

One of the biggest plot twists in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 2 is related to Bedi's Jameel Jamali when in the end, it is revealed that he is, too, an Indian spy who infiltrated Pakistani's politics 40 years ago.

Bedi's portrayal of Jamali not only impressed the masses but also left a lasting, defining impact. As both the films went on to become huge successes, the makers of Dhurandhar reportedly presented Rakesh Bedi with a bonus of Rs 1 crore. Initially, Bedi received a fee of Rs 50 lakh for both the movies. But after both the movies crossed Rs 3,000 crore worldwide, the makers decided to reward him beyond his compensation.

According to Bollywood Hungama, an insider said, "As Jameel Jamali, Rakesh Bedi impressed, entertained and completely won over the audience. His dialogues have become immortal in the meme world, while the twist surrounding his character in the sequel further amplified his impact. The producers were deeply touched by the hard work he put into making the character so memorable. As a token of gratitude, they decided to pay him additional remuneration."
