LSG picked up Rishabh Pant during the big auction in November 2024 for ₹27 lakh, but this season has not gone as hoped for him. At 27 years old, he has only managed to score 135 runs over 12 matches, with a strike rate of just 100. That's quite disappointing, given his reputation as a skilled player. His performance has caught the eye of critics, including former New Zealand bowler Simon Doull. On Cricbuzz, Doull noted that Pant’s abilities in T20 have always seemed to be a step behind where they need to be.

Doull mentioned that this is Pant’s least impressive format, and there was a lot of effort to bring him on board. However, he’s had a pretty disappointing season and hasn’t met the expectations fans have of him. So far, he’s only been an average player in T20 matches.
