09 April 2026, New Delhi: Indogulf Cropsciences Ltd. has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), to support doctoral research under the "Prime Minister's Fellowship for Doctoral Research." The fellowship is a joint initiative of CII and the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), formerly known as the Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB).
As part of this agreement, Indogulf Cropsciences will support a full-time PhD scholar at ICAR-IARI for a four-year period, from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2029. The initiative is designed to promote high-quality, industry-relevant research while strengthening collaboration between academia and industry in India's agriculture sector.
The partnership comes at a critical time when agriculture faces increasing pressure from climate change. Ensuring food security under such conditions requires innovative approaches, including the development and application of bio-stimulants to mitigate the adverse effects of drought and heat stress. The supported research will focus on generating scientific solutions that enhance crop resilience and productivity.
The doctoral research will be conducted under the mentorship of experienced scientists with expertise in key areas such as abiotic stress tolerance in plants, phenomics, and genome editing. In addition to advancing scientific knowledge, the programme aims to encourage young researchers to address pressing agricultural challenges through innovation-driven research.
This collaboration reinforces Indogulf Cropsciences' long-term commitment to driving innovation in Indian agriculture, supporting cutting-edge research, and nurturing next-generation talent capable of addressing emerging issues in food security and sustainability.
The initiative is expected to create a meaningful impact across the agricultural ecosystem. By encouraging young scholars to pursue research-driven solutions, it will contribute to building a strong pipeline of innovation with practical, field-level applications. The partnership is also likely to strengthen academia-industry linkages, enabling the translation of research into commercially viable agricultural technologies.
Furthermore, the initiative aligns with India's broader vision of achieving self-reliance in agriculture by reducing vulnerabilities associated with climate change and external dependencies. Through this effort, Indogulf Cropsciences aims to position itself not only as a manufacturer and exporter of crop protection and plant nutrition products, but also as a key enabler of sustainable and innovation-led agricultural growth.
