The long wait for the fans of the 1993 anime film 'Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama' seems to be finally over, with the film set to make its theatrical release in India on January 24th, 2025.
While the film had garnered enormous praise for itself in 1993, unfortunately, it had been banned from releasing in India, where it mattered the most.
Biggest Challenge to Akshay's Comic Talent
The heightened religious tensions in India during that time due to the demolition of Babri Masjid played a part in the film getting banned.
This was followed by a strong protest from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), closely affiliated with the BJP, who opposed the film due to its 'cartoonish portrayal' of Lord Rama.

Ironically, it is the same BJP now that is criticising the contemporary government for preventing the release of such a phenomenal film.
With its strong nostalgia factor, excellent animations, out-of-the-world songs, and the ability to generate genuine devotion for Lord Rama, this film may surprise many people through its performance at the Box Office.
Biggest Relief for Akshay Kumar After Long Time
People have even compared it to recent films like 'Adipurush', which turned out to be a total disaster.
The high excitement levels can be seen among many on social media, who are ready to welcome the film with open arms. One user said, "This was my childhood! So glad the younger generation will get to experience the magic of this Indo-Japanese collaboration."
Another commented, "When anime meets Indian mythology, it's pure magic! Looking forward to watching this epic on the big screen. Kudos to the team for bringing it back after 31 years!"
With the release date nearing by the minute, fans are amped up to relive their childhood memories through this brilliant work of art - first day, first show!
