Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stated that Amaravati has no place for failure. He said the capital project must succeed without compromise.
He explained that Vijayawada, Guntur, and Mangalagiri together will form Amaravati. According to him, the region will emerge as one of the world's most dynamic greenfield capital cities.
Chandrababu recently met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss providing legal sanctity to people's capital Amaravati. The move is expected to boost economic development in the capital region.
Legal backing is also seen as a step to restore confidence among farmers. Many of them had voluntarily given their lands for the capital project.
During the previous YSRCP government, development works in Amaravati were stalled. This followed the proposal of a three capitals concept for the state.
After returning to power in 2024, Chandrababu has consistently asserted that Amaravati will remain the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh. He has focused on reversing delays and pushing development forward.
Infrastructure works in the capital region are currently progressing at full pace. A major portion of the planned development is expected to be completed by 2027.
Amaravati represents a strong emotional connection for the people of Andhra Pradesh. Many view it as a global city in the making.
Leading this effort is Chandrababu, who has taken on the challenge despite several hurdles. His supporters cite his experience and commitment as key factors driving the project forward.
