KTR had led BRS to another electoral loss. This is the third defeat on a trot for the party after KCR passed on the reins to KTR.
To elaborate it further, BRS is yet to taste a single electoral victory after the 2023 Assembly Elections defeat.
The Party drew a blank in the Parliament elections and lost the by-elections of Secunderabad Cantonment and now the Jubilee Hills.
The by-elections defeat stings more because they are from the GHMC area where Congress was not able to open its account in the Assembly Elections.
With these results, there are doubts over KTR's leadership.
The Supremo of every regional party aspires to pass the baton to his heir at some stage to ensure that the party thrives. But the timing is very important.
Between 2014 and 2023, KTR enjoyed heights of popularity. Hyderabad ecosystem is thriving because of the natural speed and a bit of effort as well. KTR was the poster boy of the Hyderabad success.
Everyone from film celebrities to the industrialists were praising him sky high to be in the good books of the Government.
The Social Media PR also touched roofs. That was the best time for KCR to promote KTR but he skipped then.
He has been trying to promote KTR when BRS is facing extreme turbulent times. That is also partly because of KCR's health too.
In Opposition, you do not have people carrying you on your shoulders.
And then, there are no issues to promote. The 'anti-government' criticism only appear like noise unless there are serious on-ground agitations and severe anti-incumbency.
BRS has disappeared on ground and was only making noise on the social media.
And the anti-incumbency did not yet set in for Revanth Reddy Government.
So, there is nothing fancy about KTR at this stage.
There should have been a strategy change at this time. KTR should have been humble and tried to establish a connection with the people.
But he continued the same attitude how it was like during 2014-2023.
It was attitude back then and it appears like arrogance now.
KCR also carried an attitude during the Telangana Agitation days. He used to confine himself to the Farm House and would barely come out. But there was this 'Telangana Sentiment' around him safeguarding him.
The Party Supporters would continuously carry him on shoulders despite the attitude.
KTR does not have that luxury. It is never too late. KTR should reinvent himself and ready by the time, the anti-incumbency sets in or the elections near.
