The highly publicised Viveka murder case has taken a new turn after being previously closed due to lack of progress. Dr YS Sunitha Reddy, daughter of the late YS Vivekananda Reddy, filed a petition in the Nampally CBI Court seeking to reopen the investigation.
According to her lawyer, several crucial details regarding Vivekananda Reddy's death have not yet come to light. He argued that the CBI did not conduct a thorough investigation, leading to a situation where some accused were able to go free.

The lawyer also reminded the court that, as per Supreme Court guidelines, a final decision must be made only after hearing all arguments from both sides.
After reviewing the petition, the CBI Court issued notices to the accused, including Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, his father YS Bhaskar Reddy, and others Gangireddy, Sunil Yadav, Umashankar Reddy, Sivashankar Reddy, Uday Kumar Reddy, and Dastagiri (approver).
The court directed all accused to submit their explanations and file counters by October 27. The hearing has been postponed until the next session following their submissions.
