Mohan Babu approached the Supreme Court in the matter. The Apex Court has asked the AP government to respond in four weeks. After the AP High Court refused to strike down the case against Mohan Babu on January 2, 2025, Mohan Babu approached the Supreme Court.
Based on the SLPI by Mohan Babu, the jury consisting of Bela Trivedi and Satishchandra Sharma gave directions to AP government. However, it rejected the request to stop him from appearing before the trial court on May 3.
In 2019, March 22, Mohan Babu along with his staff and students took out a rally on the Tirupathi-Madanapally road and staged a dharna. The police filed a case on him for disturbing traffic and violating the election code of conduct in place at the time.

Following that, Mohan Babu approached the High Court saying they held a peaceful dharna and that the case must be struck down. As there was video evidence, the AP government appealed that the case must not be struck down.
After hearing both sides, the High Court struck down Mohan Babu's quash petition and said further hearings should take place in the trial court.

It has to be recollected that Mohan Babu was with Jagan in 2019. Later, he stayed silent in 2024. Post elections, he has been trying to appease Chandrababu Naidu. However, AP government is still seriously pursuing the case.
