Congress candidate Naveen Yadav is set to celebrate a massive win in Jubilee Hills. The constituency had 10 rounds of counting, and the stage was prepared for a clear verdict.
The counting has now concluded. Naveen Yadav secured victory with a majority of 25,000 votes after all 10 rounds. Celebrations began early at his residence and are expected to continue throughout the day.
The Congress leadership is already celebrating at Gandhi Bhavan. They see this result as a strong public endorsement of their government.
A look at the vote share shows that the BRS vote loss has directly benefited the Congress.
BJP candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy trailed with 5361 votes and lost his deposit. His vote loss stood at 23638 votes.
Exit polls had predicted a Congress victory, and the results matched those forecasts. Voters in Jubilee Hills appear to have supported the welfare schemes promised by the Congress. The last minute inclusion of Azharuddin in the state cabinet also helped secure minority votes. The BRS effort to gain sympathy votes did not succeed. Congress leaders also credit the goodwill created by late PJR and accuse the BRS of neglecting the constituency for 10 years. Naveen Yadav's accessibility to all sections also strengthened his chances.
KCR did not canvass in Jubilee Hills and stayed behind the scenes, which weakened the BRS voter base. For the Congress, this victory is significant as it reflects public confidence in Revanth Reddy's government.
It also marks the party's first win in Hyderabad, making it a major milestone for the ruling party.
