Ajith Kumar's Vidaamuyarchi, produced by Lyca Productions, was initially planned for a Pongal release. However, it was officially announced recently that the movie's release is being postponed, and it has opted out of the Pongal race.
After the announcement, Kollywood audiences, who had high expectations for Vidaamuyarchi, expressed their disappointment and criticized Lyca Productions on social media.
New Headaches for Game Changer?
Some social media users claimed that due to over-budget issues in the making of Indian 2 and Game Changer by Shankar, Lyca is prioritizing Game Changer to ensure a smooth release for Indian 3 in the Telugu states, leaving even Tamil's high-profile projects sidelined.
Additionally, some theatre owners and distributors pointed out that Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly, which had already completed shooting and was initially scheduled for a Pongal release, was delayed in favor of Vidaamuyarchi. However, with Vidaamuyarchi now postponed, this decision has led to further backlash.
