HC Says No Price Hike For OG Tickets

The Telangana High Court on Friday heard the case over OG movie ticket price hike. Government counsel Niranjan Reddy argued on behalf of the film's team.

After listening to both sides, the court ruled that ticket prices cannot be increased. It said the earlier single bench order would remain in place. The next hearing has been scheduled for October 9. The court also asked the government to explain why it sought a price hike.

During arguments, Niranjan Reddy compared cinema ticket prices to other events. He pointed out that people pay ₹500 for coffee in a five-star hotel, thousands for Diljit Dosanjh's show and Anirudh's show in Hyderabad. He also noted that OG tickets in Delhi will cost ₹1,500, and IPL tickets cost the same.

"Will the petitioner demand IPL tickets for ₹200? Or Diljit's show for ₹200? If someone wants to watch a movie for ₹150, they can wait. But if they want first-day shows at that price, how is it possible?" argued Reddy.
