Telugu film industry is one of the worst hit industries due to the Covid outbreak that came roughly 5 years. The operations in Tollywood can perhaps be categorised as before Covid and after Covid as such were the repercussions that were caused by this pandemic.
Cut to now, there's a new cause of concern globally and it is the new HMPV virus outbreak. This virus outbreak has been shaking China for the last few months. Though there are no official reports in this regard, there were several media reports about a serious outbreak.
Deepika's Post-Pregnancy Comeback: Kalki 2?
Today, in a breaking development, it is being established that India has reported its first case of the virus today. A 8-month baby in Bengaluru has tested positive for the virus and is being treated. This is being seen as an isolated incident for the time being and there's no need to panic.
Looking at the larger picture, this virus incident is rising more doubts. Will this be another epidemic or pandemic much like Covid? Will the government enforce another lockdown and advocate social distancing and restricted public gatherings? In that case, what will be the repercussions of the same?
More concerningly for the film industry, another lockdown or restricted seating capacity could be a huge challenge.
The human cost far supersedes this interest of Tollywood, so adequate measures will have to be taken when deemed fit. For now, the situation is very much under control, and there is no clear derivatives on what could be the solution for this possible outbreak.
