Actor Parvati Nair has recently been facing criticism after being accused of assault and harassment by her former house help. The complaint has been filed by Subhash Chandra Bose, who used to work as a house help at Parvati's residence in 2022.
At the time of his employment at the actor's residence, Parvati had reportedly accused him of theft, after she had reported the disappearance of her laptop, mobile phone, watch, and camera. This led to a police investigation, in which all charges against Subhash were ultimately dropped.

After this incident, Subhash quit his job and returned to working at KJR Studios. However, he alleges that he later faced assault and harassment by the actor, as she and five other individuals verbally abused him, with Parvati slapping him as well.
Following the complaint, the actor has been charged under multiple sections of the BNS, pertaining to assault and harassment. This case has gained the public limelight due to Parvati's recent appearance in The Greatest of All Time, alongside actor Thalapathy Vijay.

While more details will reveal themselves as the matter stretches out in the court, people harassing and assaulting their househelps is not something strange or new in India. People often view their houehelps as slaves and do not give them fair compensation.
Forget about compensation, most househelps do not even get the basic "luxury" of being treated as a normal human being, thus putting a dent on our constitution, which guarantees the Right to Equality to all its citizens, regardless of their status.
