The initial complaint was registered by the victim's paternal aunt, which has led to both the perpetrators getting 20 years in prison.
The case was filed on Sept. 17, 2024, in which it was stated that the mother would constantly send her daughter with the accused to his house for two months, where he assaulted her repeatedly. The mother silenced her daughter by threatening to kill her if she ever spoke up about it.
However, this didn't stop the victim from speaking after enduring this much. She discussed it on her aunt's inquiry, which led to the case being filed when the matter was finally brought to light to the father. The proceedings went forward, and the medical reports of the victim corroborated the accusations. Along with that, the accused turned out to be HIV positive, exponentially increasing the trauma inflicted on the victim.

The accused owns a mobile recharge shop, which the mother of the victim frequently visited. There were even video recordings of the accused coming to take the victim on his bike. The mother's lack of care for the goodwill of her underage child while being aware and collaborating in the act made her equally, if not more, responsible for the ordeal.
The court has convicted the rapist under POCSO section 6, section 17, along with BNS section 64(2) and section 54, while the mother has been convicted under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act. The case, however, serves as a chilling reminder of how the most trustworthy can turn on oneself and put them in harm's way. The victim has also received a 7 lakh compensation.
