Durgesh Singh Tomar was taken into custody by the Agra Cyber Crime Police for allegedly posing as a woman online and duping over 15 men out of nearly ₹25 lakh.

He used fake female identities to befriend victims on social media and later blackmailed them using manipulated nude photos and video calls.

What made the case stand out was Tomar's use of popular internet phrases like "Mele Babu Ne Khana Khaya?" to create a false sense of intimacy and trust. The viral line, often used jokingly online, was part of his strategy to sound convincing and emotionally engaging. A video has surfaced showing Tomar imitating a female voice during calls to trick his victims further.

According to police, Tomar ran multiple bogus social media accounts where he chatted with men pretending to be a woman. After gaining their trust, he used altered images and staged video calls to trap them. Once they were caught in the scheme, he threatened to leak the material unless they paid up.

Apart from sextortion, Tomar also ran fake investment schemes through Telegram groups. He promised high returns and convinced people to transfer large amounts of money. The police seized two mobile phones from him which were used to carry out the crimes.

This arrest is part of a wider crackdown on cyber fraud across India. Authorities recently apprehended 20 cybercriminals involved in over 500 cases nationwide.
