India's first aviation EduCity is coming up near Visakhapatnam, marking a major shift for aviation education in the country. The Andhra Pradesh government has released the master plan for the project.

Development will happen in partnership with GMR Airports.

The site connects directly with Vizag Airport and the nearly completed Bhogapuram greenfield International Airport. The plan includes institutes for pilot training, cabin crew courses and drone management. Aerospace labs and simulation centres will complete the learning ecosystem.

Global universities with expertise in aviation, space and defence will join as academic partners. The project is driven by Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, IT Minister Nara Lokesh and Union Aviation Minister Rammohannaidu. Their push has shaped the scale and vision of the EduCity.

Nara Lokesh has called the EduCity a major step for North Andhra. He said the project will create a skilled workforce for aviation and aerospace. It is also expected to pull in research bodies, training hubs and support industries, lifting regional industrial growth.
