The woman, identified as Nandini, had gone to the unfinished site with a small group of friends including two male colleagues and one female around 8 pm.
They entered the building to celebrate and shoot short videos, commonly known as reels, on social media after work.
According to police reports, a dispute broke out mid-evening reportedly over a relationship issue. During the argument, Nandini retreated to a higher floor to film what officers described as a sad reel. Tragically, she lost her footing near an unsecured lift shaft and fell to the ground floor, succumbing to her injuries at the scene.
While some reports say no actual reel was recovered from her device, investigators aren't ruling out that she was emotionally distressed in that moment. Authorities are piecing together the timeline, including the events leading to the disagreement and the conditions of the construction site.

Witnesses noted that the two male friends fled before police arrived, while the lone female companion stayed and alerted emergency services by dialing 112. Police are now examining CCTV footage and gathering statements to determine whether negligence such as lack of barricades or unsecured openings contributed to the tragedy.
Nandini, reportedly working as a sales executive at a local supermarket, had moved to Bengaluru for work. Her sudden death has left her family and friends devastated and prompted urgent dialogues about social media pressure, mental health, and safety at unfinished structures.
This tragic event underscores the vulnerabilities faced by young individuals balancing emotional turmoil and online expression.
Authorities urge cultivation of safer environments both physical and digital and more empathy for youth under stress.
