Insulting Ambedkar With Massive Statues!

Just before the last elections, the then Chief Ministers - KCR and Jagan Mohan Reddy got similar ideas i.e., to appease the SC voters using Ambedkar.

In Hyderabad, KCR unveiled a 125-foot Ambedkar statue near Tank Bund just before the elections.

Jagan Mohan Reddy unveiled a massive 206ft (125 ft-tall statue erected on an 81ft podium) Ambedkar Statue in Vijayawada.

On both occasions, Dalits did not fall for the Statue Politics and simply voted as per their wisdom.

KTR's Blunder Analysis On KCR Skipping Assembly

In Telangana, the Congress Government stopped even decorating the statue taking it for a BRS Project.

In Andhra Pradesh, it is a different story altogether.

Will KCR Fulfill Reddy's Dream Today, at Least?"

Initially, the statue was planned in Amaravati. But then, Jagan shifted it to the PWD Grounds in Vijayawada.

The Selection of PWD Grounds is a big mistake. PWD Grounds is a place for 100s of Hawkers who sell small things for a living. It is the only open space in the heart of Vijayawada city for public utility.

It used to be a playground and host many exhibitions. Constructing the statue there means robbing the livelihood of many and the only open space for the people of the city. Every time, people see the statue, they talk about what is lost but not about the great man.

The massive statues do not mean anything to the Great People. In fact, they are only being insulted.

In fact, the leaders should impress the voters by following the ideology of such great leaders.

Instead, they better build schools and hospitals in their names.

It is to be noted that Jagan changed the name of Dr. Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi to Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena for Scheduled Castes after coming to power in 2019. The new Government reinstated Ambedkar's name recently.
