Vettaiyan's trailer, directed by T.J. Gnanavel and set to be superstar Rajinikanth's 170th film has been released. Surprisingly, the trailer has turned out to be pretty plain.

The trailer offers a simple, restrained, and straightforward presentation, which is in straight contrast to other typical Rajinikanth trailers that are often filled with moments of grandeur, thrilling moments, and his signature punch lines.

The story of the film revolves around encounters and the fine moral line that signifies what is justifiable and what is not. Rajinikanth plays the role of a daring police officer known for hunting down dangerous criminals, while Amitabh Bachchan portrays a more practical and pragmatic approach in the role of a senior officer.

The trailer by no means is outright bad, but it does seem to lack the electrifying buildup one would expect it to have, with no significant moments offering that sparking excitement and giving the anticipation for a theatrical watch.

The trailer fails to live up to director T.J. Gnanavel's reputation whose last film Jai Bhim was a hard-hitting movie that highlighted our society's true biases.

There are high hopes on Anirudh Ravichander's BGM that it would elevate the film just like it did in Jailer, but in the trailer, it isn't overwhelming.
