Janasena Sinking In Bhimavaram?

Janasena Sinking In Bhimavaram?

Bhimavaram has always been a special constituency for Janasena. In 2019, Pawan Kalyan contested from two seats and lost both. Bhimavaram was one of them.

Despite the loss, the seat remained politically significant for the party.

In the 2024 elections, Janasena won Bhimavaram comfortably with a strong majority. However, the current ground situation does not appear encouraging. Internal issues and leadership gaps are slowly affecting the party's image in the constituency.

Recently, Janasena leaders created a stir over Pekata Clubs in Bhimavaram. Local leaders, who had never approached the Deputy CM for development funds, complained about a Police Officer allegedly running such clubs. The issue soon escalated politically.

Trusting these leaders, Pawan Kalyan took action. Later, the move backfired and brought negative attention to him. Despite treating Bhimavaram as a priority, local leadership actions are causing embarrassment to the party.

Kotikalapudi Govinda Rao expected the Bhimavaram ticket in the 2024 elections if Pawan Kalyan chose not to contest. At the last moment, Pulavarthi Ramanjaneyulu was inducted into Janasena and given the ticket instead.

While Pawan Kalyan lost Bhimavaram in 2019 by just over 8000 votes, Janasena secured a massive 67000 votes majority in 2024. The victory came during a strong wave election that favoured the alliance.

Ramanjaneyulu won the seat but has remained less active due to age-related factors. He has also struggled to effectively coordinate between TDP and Janasena cadres in the constituency, leading to organisational gaps.

Govinda Rao expected at least a prominent nominated post but has not received any role so far. Disappointed, he has distanced himself from party affairs. This has further weakened Janasena's internal structure in Bhimavaram.

There is also a visible gap between TDP and Janasena leaders and cadres in the constituency. Coordination issues continue to affect grassroots-level work and public outreach.

For now, both parties benefit from the absence of strong YSR Congress leadership in Bhimavaram. YSRCP leader Grandhi Srinivas resigned from the party in December 2024, citing dissatisfaction and a desire for a peaceful life.

Chandrababu Naidu is not directly intervening in Janasena-held seats to avoid alliance friction. He is forwarding constituency reports to Pawan Kalyan and maintaining a cautious distance from internal matters.

Janasena cadres are deeply concerned about the situation in Bhimavaram. They are urging Pawan Kalyan to step in immediately and initiate damage control. Many hope the Deputy CM will tour the constituency and address party issues directly.
