Accused in the fake liquor scam, Jogi Ramesh has received relief in the case. The Vijayawada Court granted bail to Jogi Ramesh and his brother Jogi Ramu, bringing temporary relief after their prolonged stay in judicial custody.
A case was registered against the brothers at Vijayawada's Bhavanipuram police station over allegations related to spurious liquor. Following their arrest, both were remanded to Vijayawada jail as the investigation moved forward.
The brothers had applied for bail multiple times earlier, but the requests were rejected. On Friday, the Court accepted the defence arguments and approved bail. According to YSRCP cadre, the Jogi brothers are expected to be released shortly.
Although bail was granted a few days earlier, their release was delayed due to the pending Bhavanipuram case. During this period, Jogi Ramesh reportedly complained of health issues and was taken to the Vijayawada government hospital for a medical check up.
Jogi Ramesh and Jogi Ramu were arrested on allegations of attempting to defame the ruling Chandrababu government. The charges claim they ordered the manufacture and sale of fake liquor as part of this plan.
