Telangana Jagruthi president Kavitha again targeted BRS with sharp remarks. She questioned her father KCR's flagship Kaleshwaram project and stated that Nizamabad and Kamareddy gained nothing from it.
Kavitha visited Kamareddy on Friday, attended events, and later spoke to the media. She asked the Congress government to start work on the Nizamsagar project without delay. She reminded reporters that Package 22 planned by the previous BRS government was meant to supply water to Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Dubbaka and Banswada.
She said Package 22 needed Rs 1446 crore, but the government collected only Rs 450 crore. Around 1500 acres of land was required, yet not even two percent was acquired. Kavitha stated that BRS leaders are attacking her, but Kamareddy never received water through Kaleshwaram.
She added that Nizamabad also saw no benefit. Water flowed into Nizamsagar only once through Haldi vagu, and later heavy rains solved the requirement for four years.
Kavitha alleged corruption in Kaleshwaram's construction. She claimed Harish Rao's involvement led to KCR facing a stain of corruption linked to the project.
