Telangana Jagruthi president Kavitha broke down emotionally while addressing the Legislative Council. The incident occurred during her speech after she sought permission to explain the reasons behind her resignation.
Kavitha met Legislative Council chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy and requested an opportunity to speak. She asked that her resignation be accepted only after she was allowed to address the House.
Following her request, she was given time to speak on Monday morning. During her address, Kavitha became emotional and broke down while speaking to the members.
She said she joined the Telangana movement after being inspired by her father and BRS chief KCR and Prof Jayashankar. She recalled her early political journey and association with the movement.
Kavitha alleged that her growth within the party was restricted after the formation of the state. She claimed that conspiracies began once she started questioning the party leadership.
She further said there were several internal restrictions within BRS. Kavitha questioned how democracy could exist in the state if it was absent within the party itself.
She stated that she was forced out of the party and reiterated that she had resigned from the Legislative Council last year. Kavitha urged that her resignation be formally accepted.
Her emotional speech after seeking "one chance" to speak has triggered political buzz. Political analysts say she repeated points already in the public domain and suggest she should now focus on outlining her future agenda.
