Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Supernatural Universe has multiple projects on the way and Kiara Advani has now joined the successful franchise.

The news comes a few days after eight new entries were announced for the series, scheduled to arrive in the upcoming four years.

Kiara will be a part of Shakti Shalini, which is releasing on December 31 this year. Just like the other installments, it would be a supernatural comedy and the production process is starting by April or May 2025.

Furthermore, the film will feature a fresh concept that is supposed to pull audiences to the screen. Ajitpal Singh, who created the SonyLIV series Tabbar, has been chosen to direct the film.

Kiara's entry into the franchise is also expected to introduce new characters, leading to more sequels and installments in the next few years. Considering the reputation of the universe and Kiara's track record, Dinesh has undoubtedly made the best decision.

Notably, the makers are yet to confirm the other cast members of the series and it remains to be seen if Kiara will be taking the entire story forward by being the only main character.

But the biggest competition of Kiara will be with Alia Bhatt, whose Alpha is arriving the same month around 11 days before Shakti Shalini on December 20. Five days later, there is Christmas, which is a perfect occasion for the film to record some amazing numbers at the box office.

Alpha is a part of the YRF Spy Universe and the franchise's other film War 2, which is also releasing this year, features Kiara as the female lead.

Now it remains to be seen if a positive word-of-mouth for Alpha will leave some kind of impact in the collections and response towards Shakti Shalini. Things are expected to be fine for the latter until the budget is kept in control.
