Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy has responded to indirect allegations linked to an IPS harassment issue. A television channel report claimed that a senior leader from Nalgonda subjected a woman IPS officer to sexual advances.
The report triggered strong reactions from IPS officers. They took serious objection to the allegation and expressed concern over the way the issue was reported.
Responding to the controversy, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy said he was deeply disturbed after losing his son. He stated that he has been involved in extensive charity work through a foundation set up in his name.
The minister questioned the media's approach and said that dragging a woman officer into such reports was unfair. He remarked that anything could be written about him, but involving a woman officer crossed a line.
Komatireddy clarified that the power to transfer IPS officers rests with the Chief Minister. He added that becoming an IPS officer involves years of struggle and dedication.
He further said that the truth would soon come out. Komatireddy urged the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to conduct a holistic investigation into the matter.
Recalling his political journey, Komatireddy said he resigned for the formation of Telangana. He stated that he worked for the people while living in a rented house.
Speaking emotionally, he said that losing his son felt like losing half of himself. He appealed to the media not to embarrass him or his family and added that there is a higher power watching everything.
