Nara Lokesh had a heart-touching incident to narrate as the nation mourns the death of late PM Dr Manmohan Singh. Minister Nara Lokesh took to X (twitter) to express the warmth and affection that his family had for the departed leader.
Lokesh revealed how Dr Manmohan Singh held his family's hand in 2004, even though they were from an opposition party.

Lokesh said 2004 was a tough year for his family as the TDP lost power and Chandrababu Naidu was recovering from a deadly attempt on his life by naxals near Tirupathi.
Under such circumstances, the security was reduced for Naidu, which was critically important at that juncture.

Nara Chandrababu Naidu went to New Delhi and met up with Dr Manmohan Singh and requested him for increased protection as there was high threat perception as shared by security personnel.
Dr Singh immediately issued orders that Babu be given full security cover led by NSG commandos. The local government naturally was not very happy.

Still, Dr Singh told Babu that he will get security by the time he returns to Hyderabad.
