Andhrajyothy reported an interesting development from the recent Cabinet meeting. The discussion centred on a Processing Unit planned by Lulu Mall near Vijayawada.
During the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan questioned the proposal. He asked officials what kind of unit it was and whether it involved processing cow meat. The officials hesitated to answer, prompting Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to step in. He made it clear that killing cows is strictly prohibited. Officials later clarified that the unit would handle only fruits.

Minister Nadendla Manohar from Janasena also raised a point. He objected to a 5% lease hike when the law requires 10% every three years. Officials explained that Lulu requested it, and the government agreed, considering the investment and job opportunities involved.
Pawan Kalyan also asked if the company would hire local workers or bring staff from Kerala, as it has done before. He said clearly that no company should dictate terms to the government, especially when land is being allotted freely.
This report quickly went viral on social media, and YSR Congress supporters claimed it showed differences between TDP and Janasena. But this seems exaggerated. Pawan Kalyan's objection likely came from Lulu Mall's meat export background. He has taken a more religious and Right-Wing stance since aligning with the BJP.
It's positive that Chandrababu Naidu encouraged open debate in the Cabinet. It shows healthy and cooperative governance. This approach strengthens mutual respect between Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. The Chief Minister also agreed with Pawan's views throughout the meeting. YSR Congress appears to be reading too much into it.
