Mirchi 9 1 year ago

Even a few years ago, not many would have believed if they were told a straight Telugu film would put up bigger box office number is on its 21st day, than a mainstream Hindi film on its opening day.

But that really is the case now with the second part of Pushpa posting bigger number on its 21st day at the box office, then the opening day tally of Bollywood Star Varun Dhawan's Baby John.

Baby John First Day BO: Totally Shocking

Yesterday, on the occasion of Christmas, Baby John released in theaters and it posted a Rs 11 crore nett opening. On the other hand, Pushpa 2 posted Rs 15 crore nett.

The very fact that Pushpa 2's 21st day tally is bigger than the opening day number of Baby John speaks for itself.

Baby John: Atlee's Ridiculous Statement Backfires

As noted by Anurag Kashyap recently, Bollywood has gone super soft and doesn't have a clue about how to pull the audience to the theaters. He stated that the westernisation of Bollywood cinema has become a back-breaker for the industry now.

However, in the case of Baby John, it has a heavy South Indian packaging as it is a remake of Atlee's Theri and even has its music composed by Thaman. Notably, Keerthy Suresh plays one of the female leads in the film.

Kriti Sanon: Heartbroken Fan's Shocking Decision

Despite the extensive South flavour, this Varun Dhawan film has gone nowhere at the box office. It is not even in a position to come up against Pushpa, which is already in its third week run.
