The makers of Toxic - A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash, have revealed a new character poster introducing Rukmini Vasanth as Mellisa.
The announcement adds fresh intrigue to the film and expands its growing ensemble of central characters.
The cast already includes Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara, and Tara Sutaria in key roles. Set against a 1960s party backdrop, the poster shows Mellisa as calm and observant, standing out quietly amid the surrounding chaos.
The visual hints at a character shaped by purpose rather than spectacle. Mellisa appears driven by quiet intensity, with restraint taking precedence over dramatic expression. The portrayal suggests layered depth rather than overt emotional display.
Director Geetu Mohandas praised Rukmini Vasanth's thoughtful approach to acting. She focuses on understanding her character beyond dialogue and often records observations during breaks. According to the director, her performances rely on silence as much as expression.
Rukmini Vasanth began her Kannada journey with Birbal Trilogy (2019) and earned acclaim for Sapta Saagaradaache Ello - Side A and Side B (2023), winning a Filmfare Critics Award. Her work spans multiple industries, including Kantara: A Legend - Chapter 1.
Toxic is being shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in several Indian languages. Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film is set for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
