The robbery took place at Ambedkar Chowk in Chandpur, Bijnor. The accused entered the shop posing as a customer. He first asked for a ₹19 mobile recharge, then followed it with another for ₹29.
As the shopkeeper, Suhail, opened the drawer to store the money, the robber suddenly pulled out chili powder from his jacket and flung it into Suhail's eyes.
Taking advantage of the confusion, he quickly grabbed around ₹50,000 from the cash drawer and fled the scene. Suhail tried to chase him but was unable to catch him due to the burning in his eyes.
