Ever since Fawad Khan's name was announced for the upcoming Bollywood romance, Abir Gulaal, there have been turbulent responses. Now, with the official launch of its teaser a new upsurge of backlash has begun across the country.

Ridhi Dogra who would be seen in Abir Gulaal also opened up about this concern. She said that before starting this film she confirmed if she was legally allowed to work with a Pakistani actor.
But there was no such condition placed on the entertainment industry. However, MNS and Shiv Sena have already declared that they wouldn't allow the release of this film in Maharashtra.

Netizens are also divided in this front, some feel artists should be allowed to work irrespective of their nationality, while others don't like the idea of a Pakistani actor working in India. Fawad Khan fans in India were super excited after the release of the teaser and praised the return of their favourite star in Bollywood after 9 years.
