The Andhra Pradesh government has ordered for SIT on illegal mining and land grab activities of ex Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi.
Director General of Vigilance & Enforcement submitted a report that clearly showed Vamsi's role in unlawful excavation of gravel and building stones in Krishna district. It was found that he indulged in illegal activities with his close network of associates.

The activities resulted in Rs 195 crore loss to government and environmental degradation. It was also found that Vamsi was involved in amassing land through threats, coercion and other unlawful means. He is aid to have got lands registered on his name and those of his benamis.
The report also said that Vamsi along with his associates were behind illegal excavation of earth from Panakala Cheruvu that amounted to Rs 100 crore gains.

After the report was sent to Director General of Police, the DGP submitted a proposal of constituting a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
So, the AP government has announced a SIT. Looks like the noose around Vamsi is tightening!
