Hansika Motwani, the one-time leading lady of Telugu cinema who shared screen space with famous Telugu stars like Allu Arjun and Jr. NTR, finds herself today entangled in a court battle with her own family.
The actress, who played a lead in superhit movies such as Desamuduru, has approached the Bombay High Court to cancel an FIR filed by her sister-in-law Muskan Nancy James against her and her mother.

The charges are based on James' marriage to Hansika's brother, Prashant Motwani, which was separated in 2022. James has charged Hansika and her family with harassment, alleging that they interfered with her marriage and asked for lavish gifts, such as costly watches and ₹20 lakh for a wedding hall.
She also accused the family of asking her to sell her flat and holding them responsible for her health condition, Bell's Palsy, due to stress.

Hansika has refuted all the allegations as retaliatory actions associated with ongoing matrimonial litigations. She said she had nothing to do with the problems between James and her brother. The actress also pointed out that she was married in 2022 and now resides with her husband.
The case has attracted wide public interest as a result of Hansika's fame and the gravity of the allegations. Though she has obtained anticipatory bail, the court hearings are expected to continue as both parties lay out their case.
