Music composer Thaman has sparked a new controversy with his comments about unity in the Telugu film industry. He said that it is very easy for a Tamil composer like Anirudh to get Telugu films, but very difficult for a Telugu composer like him to get opportunities in Tamil cinema.
According to Thaman, the Tamil industry shows stronger unity compared to the Telugu industry.
However, many fans did not agree with his statement. They felt that instead of blaming industry unity, Thaman should first focus on delivering consistently strong music in the films he is currently working on. Fans pointed out that when he is struggling to impress even with big Telugu star films, it is unfair to complain about not getting Tamil projects.
Adding to the backlash, Thaman's latest release Akhanda 2 opened to extremely mixed responses. His background score, which was a major highlight in Akhanda 1, failed to recreate the same powerful impact this time. Many viewers felt the music lacked the trance-like energy that elevated the first part.
Thaman is now working on Prabhas' upcoming film The Raja Saab, but even this project has drawn trolling. He recently posted about the film's second single, "Sahana Sahana," saying he had "just heard" the song and that it would "stay for ages." This statement led to mockery online, with fans questioning how a composer could say he "heard" his own composition.
After facing backlash, Thaman deleted the post and reposted it, clarifying that he had heard the "final master" version of the song. With the first song from The Raja Saab receiving a poor response and his recent films underperforming musically, Thaman is currently facing intense scrutiny from industry and fans.
