Three New Districts Planned In Andhra Pradesh

Mirchi 9 4 months ago

The Andhra Pradesh government is considering the creation of three new districts Markapuram, Madanapalle and Rampachodavaram. The proposal for Rampachodavaram focuses on developing the submerged areas linked to the Polavaram project.

If Rampachodavaram and Chinturu are added to East Godavari district, it would become too large. Because of this, the AP government has put forward a new plan.

CM Chandrababu discussed the new districts and divisions with ministers and officials at the state Secretariat. They will meet again on Tuesday to take a final decision. After reviewing presentations, the CM gave nod for Markapuram (now in Prakasam district), Madanapalle (now in Annamayya district) and Rampachodavaram.

Officials are preparing fresh reports based on Chandrababu's suggestions before Tuesday's meeting. The CM also questioned why Penamaluru in Vijayawada was ignored while efforts were being made to include Nuziveedu and Gannavaram in NTR district.

He asked why Penamaluru should wait until people demand it. The sub-committee suggested adding Gannavaram from Krishna district and Nuziveedu from Eluru district to NTR district. The CM said this can be discussed later.

Rampachodavaram and Chinturu are currently in Alluri Sitaramaraju district. The distance between Chinturu and district headquarters Paderu is 215 km. If both divisions join East Godavari, its population will reach 24.48 lakh and the district will have 10 constituencies. This is why a separate Rampachodavaram district is being planned. A decision will be taken on Tuesday.

The CM approved the inclusion of Addanki and Kandukuru in Prakasam district. He also approved the formation of new Addanki and Madakasira revenue divisions. The proposal for Banaganepalle division has been set aside.

Guduru division will be added to Tirupati from Sri Potti Sreeramulu district. Nagari, which is in Chittoor, is proposed to be added to Tirupati district. These points will also be discussed on Tuesday.
