Jiiva's science fiction Black movie, which was released one day after Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan on October 11th, was also a super hit, many theatres replaced Vettaiyan with the Black movie after the first weekend due to the over-whelmed responses from the audience for the movie.

Sivakarthikeyan's Amaran movie was also a surprise to Kollywood this year, as it beats Vijay's GOAT collections in many centers, and as per reports, footfall-wise, Amaran is greater than Vijay's GOAT in Tamil Nadu.
