Currently lodged in Meerut jail, Muskan has requested the jail authorities to provide her with the syllabus and study details for LLB, expressing her desire to pursue a law degree.
In a conversation with jail officials, Muskan said she believes no lawyer will fight her case the way she wants. She wants to represent herself in court and believes becoming a lawyer is the only way to do that.
According to Dr. Viresh Raj Sharma, the jail superintendent, her request is being reviewed, and discussions are ongoing about whether a prisoner can be allowed to pursue such professional education.

Currently, Muskan has studied only up to class 9. For an LLB degree, she would first need to complete her high school and intermediate education.
While Meerut jail already has facilities for high school and intermediate studies through IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University), providing a law degree would be a new challenge. Legal and technical aspects of this request are being looked into.

Muskan's family has not visited her in jail, and she is currently dependent on a government-appointed lawyer. Meanwhile, her co-accused and lover, Sahil, has received support from his family and is arranging for a private lawyer.
The case had created a stir across the country when it was revealed that Muskan and Sahil killed her husband, chopped up his body, stored it in a blue drum, and later went on a trip to Shimla. During her time in jail, it was also confirmed that Muskan is pregnant.
