New Headaches for Game Changer?
Following Sookshmadarshini, the celebrated violent Malayalam film Marco also had its HD version leaked within just 5-8 days of release, similar to the case of Mohanlal's Barroz. Now, the HD version of a recently released movie has also been leaked.
Suraj Venjaramoodu's dark comedy film Extra Decent which released on December 20 also has been leaked in ultra-HD version.
Fake Director: More Confusion for Game Changer
Piracy has become a growing concern for Malayalam films, and even for Kollywood movies. A few years ago, only the theatre prints of movies were leaked on piracy websites. However, now HD versions of movies are being released online within just 5-10 days of their theatrical release. This issue must be addressed and controlled immediately.
Directors of Malayalam films are putting in their best efforts to bring audiences to theatres, but these HD leaks have become a major headache.
Is It Really Easy for Game Changer Now?
In January, the Mollywood industry had back-to-back big releases such as Identity, Rekhachithram, Pravinkoodu Shappu, Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, and Thudarum, all with huge budgets.
The movie associations of the Malayalam industry should take immediate action to tackle this issue.
