BJP has been picking its mandal and district heads in AP. The process has been delayed a bit and the hot debate right now is about who would be the AP BJP chief.
Right now, BJP is headed by D Purandareswari. But the talk in political circles is that she will soon be given a cabinet birth in Modi's team.
Purandareswari joined the party in 2014 and has held various key positions. She has also maintained good relations with NDA poll allies TDP and Jana Sena. Once Purandareswari shifts to Centre, the chief's post is bound to fall vacant.
The saffron party is said to be head hunting and looking out for a strong contender. It is known that the BJP is looking to strengthen its party at the grassroots level in South India.
2 Mins, 20 MLAs Non-Performing In Revanth Team
Some names are doing rounds and it remains to be seen who Modi and Shah would pick for the coveted role. MLAs Dr PV Parthasarathy, Sujana Chowdhary, MLC PVN Madhav and senior leader Purighalla Raghuram are said to be in the race for the top post.
But the caste equations cannot be denied as the BJP has a clear-cut strategy to please its vote bank. While Sujana Chowdhary and Partasarathi are being considered, the BJP might opt for either PVN Madhav or Purighalla Raghuram if it looks at its RSS ties.
BJP's Kamma Formula, What Does That Mean?
However, the top post could go to Parthasarathi due to his ties with the top brass, his RSS ties and the fact that he belongs to the Valmiki community from Rayalaseema. Till date, no one from the community has been made a chief.
