The YSRCP seems to be in dearth of think-tanks. Of course, it has it's share of speakers like Ambati, Roja, Bhumana, Chevireddy and few others.
But looks like it is missing the presence of old hands like Vijaysai Reddy. But they got their lifeline from an unexpected person.
The sudden entrant into the scene is political commentator Parakala Prabhakar. His wife is Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman representing the BJP. But in India, it's common to have each member of the House to have their own party affiliations.
So when Parakala spoke about EVM tampering, it is creating headlines. It was just the right juicy piece of propaganda that YSRCP needed. At a time when YSRCP leaders have spread out taking up various issues like adulterated ghee, adulterated milk, Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan, Lokesh, EVM tampering, kapu politics, court cases and not to forget rappa rappa rallies, Parakala's comments about EVM tampering have come as a right weapon for YSRCP. After Undavalli, Subramanian Swamy, now comes Parakala - all making comments that help YSRCP's narrative, though none are directly affiliated to YSRCP.
However, Parakala's comments hit hard at a time when the national opposition Congress has been accusing of EVM tampering by the BJP. But Parakala chose to target the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections in particular this time.
