According to Sagir, Arshi preferred the clean-shaven look of his younger brother, Sabir, with whom she eventually eloped.
Sagir and Arshi had married seven months ago in a traditional ceremony.
While Sagir proudly sported his black beard, Arshi allegedly began objecting to it shortly after the wedding.
Sagir claimed that despite her repeated requests, he refused to shave, leading to ongoing arguments. During this time, Arshi reportedly grew close to Sabir, who was clean-shaven.

In February, Arshi allegedly ran away with Sabir. Sagir searched for her in vain before eventually filing a missing person's report with the police. He claimed to possess a recording of Arshi and Sabir planning to either poison him or hire a hitman, allegedly to clear the path for their marriage.
However, Arshi has denied all allegations related to the beard, stating instead that she left Sagir due to his sexual unfitness. She returned to her parental home with Sabir and expressed her desire to marry him instead.

In front of the police, a disheartened Sagir agreed to divorce her. Arshi then demanded the return of Rs 5 lakh she claimed to have brought as dowry.
She said, "If he gives at least Rs 2.5 lakh, I will leave him for Sabir. Otherwise, I will not agree to divorce." The matter is currently under local police review.
