Peter Hickman's race-winning BMW S1000 RR heads to auction

One of the most iconic machines in modern road racing is about to go under the hammer. The BMW S1000 RR 2019 Smiths Racing raced by Peter Hickman during his standout 2019 season will be auctioned later this month.

A proven race winner

This particular bike competed in some of the most demanding road racing events, including the North West 200, the Isle of Man TT and the Ulster Grand Prix.

Hickman secured victory in the Superstock race at the North West 200, marking back-to-back wins at the event. At the TT, he delivered an exceptional performance, winning both the Superstock and Superbike races, including a dominant Superstock victory by over 26 seconds.

He later added another win at the Ulster Grand Prix, making this bike one of the most successful machines of that season.

A TT legend's machine

With 14 TT wins and 31 podium finishes, Peter Hickman has cemented his place among the greats. Notably, 10 of those victories were achieved at average speeds exceeding 130 mph (209 km/h), highlighting the extreme level of performance.

His winning streak, which resumed after the COVID-19 disruption, came to an end in 2025 following injuries sustained during qualifying.

Collector-grade extras included

The auction package includes more than just the motorcycle. It comes with exclusive memorabilia:

- "1st Dunlop" winner's cap
- Ulster Grand Prix 2019 winner's medal
- a folder containing official race reports from the 2019 season

These additions further enhance its appeal as a collector's item.

Auction details

The bike will be auctioned on April 26 as part of the International Classic Motorcycle Show Stafford, handled by Bonhams.

For collectors and enthusiasts, this is a rare chance to own a machine with a genuine winning pedigree at the very highest level of road racing.
