Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary on Thursday expressed strong confidence in the NDA's return to power in Assam, after casting his vote in the ongoing Assembly elections.

Mohilary, accompanied by his wife Sewli Mohilary, who is making her electoral debut from the Kokrajhar constituency, said the atmosphere in the state was clearly in favour of the ruling alliance.

"We are 100% sure that the NDA will retain power and Himanta Biswa Sarma will be the Chief Minister once again. People are voting for the development done by this government," he told reporters.

The Bodoland People's Front (BPF), led by Mohilary, is a key constituent of the NDA in Assam, alongside the BJP and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).

Meanwhile, Pramod Boro, chief of the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL), also cast his vote in Tamulpur, where he is contesting in the Assembly elections.
