Two separate road accidents in Assam's Nagaon district claimed one life each.
In the first incident, a tragic accident took place at Udmari in Samaguri, where a tractor lost control and overturned, leading to the death of the driver.
The deceased has been identified as Joseph Vengra from Lungchung.
According to local sources, the accident occurred on the road connecting Udmari and Kathalguri. The tractor reportedly lost control due to the movement of speeding dumpers operating from a nearby stone crusher. While the driver died on the spot, his co-worker narrowly escaped with his life.
Police from Samaguri reached the spot soon after the incident and began an investigation. Local residents have demanded strict regulation of the dumper vehicles, blaming their reckless movement for the accident.
In another incident reported from Puronigudam in Nagaon, a cyclist was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on National Highway 127.
The deceased has been identified as Deep Borah, a resident of Puronigudam. The vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene immediately after the collision.
