A road accident near the Assam-Nagaland border at Khat Khati in Bokajan claimed the lives of two young men on Friday evening.

According to reports, the accident took place near the Sagar Complex parking area close to Khat Khati Bazaar when a 16-wheeler truck (NL 07 AA 4021) was parked in the area. A motorcycle coming from the Dimapur side (AS 05 J 5265) reportedly rammed into the parked truck at high speed.

The impact of the collision was severe, leaving both riders of the motorcycle critically injured. They were immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital in the Haflong area, but doctors declared them dead.

The deceased have been identified as Ganesh Hazarika of Kachari village and Sanju Chereng of Jar Tokbi village.
